Improved function for calculating load in outflow from the recipient
The function for calculating the load in the outflow from the recipient, Lout (kg/year), has been improved for metals for which dissolved and bioavailable measured fractions are specified as input data. These loads are used as a term in the mass balance for a recipient and as input in the form of point load, Lpoint (kg/year), for the recipient downstream.
More detailed information:
The enhanced function uses the values for the total concentration of metals for the calculation of Lout, but does not affect other substances nor other results. No change in results takes place unless dissolved or bioavailable concentrations are specified as input data.
What is affected by the function are thus metals where dissolved and/or bioavailable measured concentrations have been inserted as input in the box Recipient data and where Lout has been used at the same time which is now changed (also in previous projects), which means that recipients downstream need to be adjusted (because Lpoint is added manually) for a new specified point load with new Lout for metals from the recipient upstream. The new function uses total concentrations, either calculated or measured concentrations (if the latter are specified, these are used in the calculations). If no measured total concentrations are stated but dissolved concentrations are stated, the new function uses dissolved concentrations converted to total concentrations based on empirical proportions of dissolved fractions in the recipient, which are stated under info in the box Recipient data.
